I take a step toward him and angle my head back, looking up into his emerald eyes. I see the reflection of myself in them and I look as scared as I feel.

Quick Review: Speechless by Hannah Harrington

Review:

The reason I picked up this book at first was because of the cover. The simplicity of it drew me in. Once I started reading, it was Hannah Harrington's writing that kept me reading. I loved the characters and the message of the book. I liked that this book tackled relevant issues and in a way that made me stop and think. I wonder if I could do what Chelsea did? Probably not.

What I'm Reading #1

Just wanted to share the book I'm currently reading and enjoying.

Flat Out Love (Flat Out, #1) by Jessica Park

Review:

Before I get into the book, I have to say that I love the cover. It's beautiful and eye catching. 

“In the existence of our lives, there is a single coincidence that brings us together and for a moment, our hearts beat as one.”

Callie has been an outcast since the 6th grade when she chopped of her hair and started wearing baggy clothes. She has been keeping a dark secret. A secret that has changed her life and is the cause of her unhappiness. She keeps to herself, preferring to be alone.

Kayden is the opposite of Callie. Or so it seems.  He is popular and has a girlfriend that all the other boys drool over. But what nobody knows is that inside he is unhappy.

Fate has brought Callie and Kayden back together in college. They become each others rock and develop a relationship neither of them expected.

I loved this book. It was heart breaking but still had some sweet moments. Callie and Kayden are amazing together and as separate characters. My heart broke for both of them. This book took me through so many different emotions from sadness to frustration and a little bit of happiness. Jessica Sorensen definitely knows how to write heartbreaking story!

But that cliffhanger! How can it just end like that?!

Luckily, the next part is out and I won't have to wait to see what happens next.

Review:

Although Hopeless came out in 2012, I just discovered it a few weeks ago. Colleen Hoover won me over on the first page. I could not put this book down. Her style of writing captivates you and makes you want to read the whole book at once. 

"The sky is always beautiful. Even when it's dark or rainy or cloudy, it's still beautiful to look at. It's my favorite thing because I know if I ever get lost or lonely or scared, I just have to look up and it'll be there no matter what...and I know it'll always be beautiful." 

Hopeless is a the perfect mix of romance, mystery and heartache. I definitely let out a tear or two or three...The story of Sky and Holder is a roller coaster ride of emotions. 

Sky is the main character and narrator. She is beautiful and strong but she definitely has her flaws. Her character came off as very realistic, which is very important to me. 

Holder comes off as a mysterious bad boy. Then Sky gets to know him better and we slowly realize he is so much more than that. He is so many different things. Intense, passionate, kind and a little crazy. 

I loved watching Sky and Holder fall for each other. They just fit together so perfectly. This book is a must read.
